if FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES $ Liberty Limited advanced another step in his preparation for the Kentucky Derby when in company with Canfli he breezed seven-eighths in 1:31 here this morning. They went the half mile in :50 and the three-quarters in 1:17. W. F. Knebelkamp, of Louisville, owner of the Louisville baseball club and racing patron, came over from Mobile and with Mrs. Knebelkamp will remain over for the Louisiana Derby. Mr. Knebelkamps Delivered is in training for the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. Trainer John F. Schorr has definitely set March 27 as the day of departure for the big Three Ds Stock Farm Stable in his care. He is shipping to Churchill Downs. Herbert Lauch, Lockland, Ohio, boy and a likely young rider, will accompany G. R. Allen with the Allen and Dave Levy horses to Louisville. William Ashton leaves Sunday for his home at Bowie. He spent the entire -winter here. E. E. Major with eight and J. J. McCoole with three and C. Baldwin with two get away Monday for Exposition Park, Aurora. This is the first shipment from here to that track, where the annual spring meeting opens on Monday, May 2. In addition to the horses he has in training, Garrett Watts will dispose of much of the breeding stock at Elktonia Stud in Kentucky. Rapidly recovering from an operation performed last week, Earl Pool hopes to leave for his home in Louisville within a week. Injuries suffered yesterday by C. V. Whitneys two-year-old, Angkor, may cost him the sight of one eye. The second and final shipment of Whitney and M. Goldblatt horses from here to Louisville gets away Sunday or Monday. Marion McGonigle, former jockey and assistant to C. E. Gross, trainer of the Knebelkamp and Morris stable, underwent an opera- j tion for appendicitis at an early hour this I morning. He was stricken during the night and an immediate operation was decided upon. Jockey L. Whitacre was suspended for the last two days of the meeting for rough riding in the last race Thursday. John F. Henry, representative of the National Jockey Club, which will hold its inaugural meeting at Sportsmans Park, Chicago, in May, today stated that under present plans eight races are to be run daily at that tidy half-mile course, and the purses will aggregate ,200 daily. Joe McClymon is shipping nine horses, property of the Blue Ribbon Stable, to that new course. Other of the stables here have stalls reserved. C. S.
