GARDEN SEAT showed speed from the start, drew away from WILD CRESS in the stretch and, withstanding a mild challenge from MASTER McGEE, held on well. DISTURB, away slowly, raced wide after a quarter, improved his position gradually in the last five-sixteenths and was wearing down the winner. MASTER McGEE, given a hustling ride, moved up mildly after reaching the stretch, then tired. AGNES SOREL began slowly. WILD CRESS showed early speed. GETTIN EVEN raced wide under light pressure after reaching the stretch and was rapidly wearing down the winner. TOMBEREAU, away slowly and much used in getting to the leaders, saved ground in the stretch and tired in the drive. JOUR-KEYS END raced well. OUTER HARBOR lost much ground. HONEYMAN quit. SARIETTA, away fast and quickest to get going, could not withstand SONG HIT near the turn and, withstanding hard riding gamely in the stretch, was up to win in a long drive. SONG HIT bore over sharply soon after the start, showed good speed, and held on stubbornly. ON SIR, forced back early, raced wide in the final three-eighths and held on well. GREEN WAVE, crowded back soon after the start, could not get up. PRINCE FARTHING closed resolutely. MEXICO, forced back when in very close quarters on the far turn, did not recover. OPEN HEARTH, restrained for three-quarters, responded resolutely when called upon and, but for interference from the winner, might have won. PRINCE HOTSPUR moved up fast early, was well rated and held on gamely. BERTJOHN, probably best, was crowded back by PRINCESS CAMELIA leaving the back stretch, closed a big gap after a slow recovery and showed a remarkable performance. HOOPS tired in the final drive.
