The latter, close to the early leaders, moved up resolutely on the outside entering the stretch, but was forced wide and lost ground, came again and was wearing down the winner in the final strides. GIBBYS CHOICE showed good speed when pocketed between the leaders on the stretch turn, where his rider lost one of his stirrup irons and was unable to do him justice thereafter. SILVER LAKE, racing forwardly throughout under strong pressure, responded gamely in the stretch and, wearing down the leaders, won going away. MAE SWEEP began fast, challenged gamely in the stretch and outlasted CHARLIE. The latter, hard ridden, came through in the first eighth, set the pace and held on well. CHARLEIGH, close up early, saved ground sntering the stretch, but tired under punishment. PRINCE FOX was unable to improve his position.
