PAIGE, racing as if best, was rated behind the leaders for seven-eighths, improved his position quickly when urged and, opening up a clear lead in the stretch, won easily. HEC raced forwardly, but did not menace the winner. TIMBUS saved ground throughout and came through an opening in the stretch. AH DAGHAH tired. ARGUE met interference on the first turn. SLIPPER to SLIPPER was also blocked on the first turn. TROSSACHS ran out on the far turn. FLYING SOMERS cut across sharply soon after the start, crowding TIMBUS. HEC. ARGUE and MISS WITTICISM. The latter, a factor from the start, closed resolutely on the rail and was gaining at the end. GRAYDALE, a tardy beginner, was under a hustling ride throughout and ran a winning race. SEGUNDA opened up a long lead, but was not good enough. DUPEE saved ground throughout. PROUD HILLS was in close quarters on th« jtretch turn. HIDDEN GOLD raced well. KAPENA was in close quarters in the stretch. VOLTINA also delayed the start. HIGH SHOT closed a big gap after being shuffled back soon after the start.
