Start good out of machine. Won driving; second and third easily. ON TAP moved into command early and, showing good speed, was rated along steadily, saved ground and outlasted BLIND BOWBOY. The latter began from the outside and, closest to the pace from the start, went to the outside in the stretch and was wearing down the winner, despite being cut on one of his hind legs. SEMAPHORE responded to urging and finished well. CLOTHO was outrun early. PARDEE had no mishaps. ELECTION DAY was outrun. PEACOCK ALLEY quit. Overweight— On Tap, 1£ pounds; Semaphore, 2£. B GATELLE responded to pressure in the stretch and finished well. JACK ANTHONY landed poorly at the eleventh fence and swerved at the final jump. CAHIRCIVEEN was on the outside all the way.
