INCREASE IN WAGERING Special Cablegram. LONDON, England, May 17.— There was a marked increase in totalisator wagering in England in 1931 over 1930, the report of the Race Course Betting Control Board shows. Almost 12,500,000 wagers were made in the machines, with a total turnover of approximately 2,250,000. This is an increase of about ,291,000 over 1930. The record odds for the year were 171% to 1.
