MONTREAL INAUGURAL MONTREAL, Que., May 27.— Thoroughbred racing returns to Montreal Saturday for the shortest season here in many years. With old Delorimier eliminated, four tracks remain to operate locally, while Connaught Park, at Ottawa, only a short trip from here, rounds out a ten-week season. In the opinion of most racing men, curtailment of the season will be a good move economically for the tracks that remain, and ensure them a good season. Popular Kings Park opens Saturday. Not a single half-mile course now remains in the Montreal district, Kings Park being a spacious three-quarters mile course, with broad stretches and fine chutes for races at various distances. Modernly equipped, it its one of the most attractive courses in the district, and was in shape today for the opening. •
