SILENT SHOT, breaking quickly from an inside position, took command at once and, racing well in the going, was never headed, winning easily. MR. JOE came gamely through the stretch and was best of the others, but could not overtake the winner. INTERPRETER finished well to overtake FLYING FLEET in the closing strides. FLYING FLEET was shuffled back soon after the start and closed a gap. PROJECTILE was in close quarters after leaving the back stretch. WAYWARD LAD and BRIGHT MONK tired. BROOKSIE raced into contention soon after the start and outlasted SUNIDAY in the final drive. SUNIDAY showed the most early speed, but tired rrear the end. JESSIE CAREY made up ground in the stretch. MODERN QUEEN was in close quarters on the far turn and was never dangerous thereafter. The others were outpaced. The latter came gamely in the last quarter and, cutting to the inside in the stretch, was going well at the end. MINTOGEE raced forwardly, but tired slightlv in the stretch. TERRY ROSE took a good lead in the early stages, but tired in the last eighth. THREE BEES was shuffled back after the start. BAGGAGE MISS could not keep up. VENETIAN GIRL was outrun.
