MRS. WHITNEY DONATES PRIZE Greentree Stable Owner Offers Silver Trophy to Winning Owner of Charity Steeplechase. BELMONT PARK, May 27.— Mrs. Payne Whitney, Americas first turf woman and owner of the Greentree Stable, has donated a handsome silver trophy to be presented to the winning owner of the steeplechase on the Nassau County Unemployment Relief day racing program at Belmont Park, Monday, June 6. As an appreciation of the popular eastern sportswomans active interest, racing secretary Victor Schaumburg has named the field feature the "Greentree Steeplechase." Proceeds of the day will be turned over for distribution to the Nassau County Unemployment Relief committee, composed of Henry Rootstern, chairman; Colonel Kerrigan, vice chairman; Rev. Dr. Stewart, secretary; Mrs. John W. Davis, John Eden and Albert S. Roberts. The horsemens committee is enthusiastically recruiting horses for the regular program and special features. This committee is composed of Max Hirsch, chairman; Andrew Jackson Joyner, Thomas J. Healey, and James Fitzsimmons.
