SUCCESSFUL AT ROCKINGHAM Twenty-Eight Days of Racing at Salem Distribute 42,400. W. H. Gallagher Most Successful Among Money Winning: Owners Cattail Heads "Winning; Horses. New Hampshires first race meeting under the new law making it legal to wager on horse races in the pari-mutuels, was a tremendous success, so much so that the Rockingham Park management immediately announced plans for and is advertising a fall meeting. Twenty-eight days of racing were conducted with a total money distribution in prizes amounting fo 42,400, a daily average of ,085.71. Two hundred races were decided. The meeting began on June 21 and ended July 22. W. H. Gallagher was the most successful among the owners who raced their horses at the Salem track, winning ,700 to lead the money winning owners list. Mrs. E. McCuan fared well when her racers earned ,950 and C. V. Whitney was third with ,550. Cattail was the best money gleaner among the horses, winning three races and placing in others for a total of ,600. The veteran Ned O. was second with ,450 and the consistent Quorum, four times victorious, earned ,000. H. Dabson scored with twenty-one of his mounts to take riding honors. Right on his heels was G. Haines, who had twenty winners, or one more than H. Knessi. Clyde Phillips romped away with training honors when he saddled twelve winners.
