ARLINGTON PARK STATISTICS Close Race for Money-Winning Honors Among Owners. Dixiana Stable Tops Brookmeade String Thirty-Five Dollars Difference Between Inlander and Far Star. The Arlington Park meeting of 1933 was notable in more ways than one. The new electric totalizer proved popular with Chicago turf enthusiasts, and the meeting as a whoje was up to the usual Arlington standard. The Classic Stakes, however, failed to definitely settle the three-year-old championship, but the Arlington Handicap enabled the great Equipoise to prove to the world that he is the champion horse of the country. During the thirty-day meeting from June 26 to July 29, the jockey club distributed 41,805, a daily average of 1,393.50. The Dixiana stable of the Detroit owner, Charles T. Fisher, fared exceedingly well with earnings of 1,190. Right on the heels of the western string was the Brookmeade Stable of Mrs. Dodge Sloane, New York, which won 8,285. There was a big gap between second and third, with D. A. Wood, owner of Indian Runner, in that position with 5,645. Warren Wrights Calumet Farm horses won 2,325, and C. V. Whitneys horses 1,635. A mere 5 gave Inlander, Classic Stakes winner, first place among the money-winning horses over Far Star, winner of the Futurity. Inlander earned 3,555 and Far Star 3,520. Mata Hari, winner of the Arlington Lassie Stakes, earned 3,170. Indian Runner, victor in the Inaugural and Stars and Stripes Handicap, won 5,645, and Cavalcade, which surprised in the Hyde Park Stakes, is credited with 1,230. Jack Westrope, young Montana rider, met his test with the best riders of the country in convincing fashion and led the riders at the meeting with twenty-seven winners. Syl-vio Coucci was next with twenty winners, and R. Jones third with eighteen. Jack Howard, by saddling fourteen winners, took the training honors, having one winner more than W. Irvine.
