VOLTA MARE SCORES VICTORY Vacillate Outruns Washout and Sil ¬ verdale at Charles Town An ¬ other Big Crowd Present CHARLES TOWN W Va June 14 Vacillate sevenyearold daughter of Volta Compose was first home in the Clendenin Purse a five furlongs feature at Charles Town today when after being restrained back of the early leaders she drew away in the stretch and took the verdict one and a quarter lengths before Washout Silverdale was third an additional length back and a head before Morocen MorocenSilverdale Silverdale and Washout went into the first turn heads apart in the lead but on the back stretch Washout drew clear and Vacillate moved up to race lapped on Silverdale This order was maintained until the field swung into the stretch when Vacillate Silverdale and Washout raced on even terms Wash ¬ out was tiring and Vacillate drove into the lead In the stretch Vacillate was able to maintain her lead under pressure while Washout was likewise able to hold Silver dale safe Morocen which had been unable to match the early speed of the leaders came with a rush and would have ousted Silverdale in a few more strides stridesAnother Another good crowd was on hand and ideal weather and track conditions prevailed
