RAISE AQUEDUCT PURSES MINIMUM NOW 1000 NEW YORK N Y June 14 Racing sec ¬ retary John Kane announced yesterday that beginning with the Aqueduct program next Monday there will be a general raise in purse values The minimum will be 1000 and other purses will be of 1200 and 1500 This voluntary increase of the awards brings the minimum to 200 more than the minimum elsewhere in the country and is a part of the policy of the Queens County Jockey Club to have the horsemen share in the better times that have come to the sport this year yearSecretary Secretary Kane also announced that for the fall meeting at Aqueduct as well as at Jamaica there will be an addition of sev ¬ eral special prizes not less than three will be offered each week with values scaling up from 2500
