Hernandez colors, in which Turner rode to four of five victories scored during the afternoon thrilled an overflow crowd as the Cleveland racing season opened under clear skies at Bainbridge Park near here today. Included among the Turner-Hernandez successes was a victory in the Decoration Day Handicap, which featured an inaugural program of eight races. Woodlander, four-year-old Rolled Stocking gelding, accounted for the principal race, Turner driving him over the distance in the fast time of 1:12 to have him across the line of finish half a length before Sweep Like. Irenes Bob carrying top weight of 115 pounds and the favorite, finished third, two lengths farther back and five before Clang. Four others also competed.
