BLAST PERILS N. Y. EAST SIDE NEW YORK, N. Y May 30. Ten persons were injured and half a dozen others were feared buried alive Wednesday when an explosion and fire demolished a three-story building on the lower East Side. It was believed that at least six persons were buried alive in the wreckage when the explosion ripped through a building at Twenty-First Street and First Avenue, followed a minute later by flames that threatened one of the largest illuminating gas tanks in New York, Firemen feared that the flames might spread, and in that event the whole East Side might be burned to ashes. The explosion was supposed to have originated in a gas tank in an auto repair shop in the .. building.
