MVASHINGTON PARK NOTES s s Billy Meyers, track superintendent at Sportsmans Park and builder of many other courses in the country, made his first appearance of the season. Hold Fire, three-year-old gelding in the Milky Way Farms Stable, will be shipped to the farm at Pulaski, Tenn., by trainer Robert McGarvey to be turned out until -fall. Jockey A. Beck had his first mount of the meeting on Earth Shaker Thursday. Trainer R. T. Watts has engaged- Robert 1 Mozer to do ttie riding for L. Beyda, who has eight horses here. J. H. "Buddy" Phelps, sixteen-year-old apprentice under contract to A. Pelleteri for a five-year period, had his first chance on a; major track on Supremart in the second1 event. His home is in McCook, Neb. John Hertz, a leader in Arlington Park affairs, was an arrival from New York. Mrs. Herz; whose stable Is . assembled at Washington Park, has been a regular visitor since the opening.
