TINTAGEL WORKS ONE MILE i I IN 1:43 1-5 AT JAMAICA 1 NEW YORK, N. Y., April 21. Marshall Fields Tintagel, candidate for the 0,000 added Wood Memorial on Saturday, worked a mile in 1:43 over the Belmont Park training track this morning. The son of Sir Gallahad III. Heloise, which redeemed himself for his poor showing in the Paumonok Handicap by breezing to an easy victory in the Merrick Purse last Saturday, went the half mile in :47, five furlongs in 1:00, three-quarters in 1:14 and seven-eighths in 1:29. Hollyrood, third behind Tintagel and Sea-biscuit in the Merrick, breezed three-eighths in :40. Mr. Bones, John Hay Whitneys Wood Memorial candidate, went five furlongs in 1:01, the half-mile in :48. C. V. Whitneys Red Rain, hero of the Hopeful Stakes last year, was on the track at Belmont Park and galloped an easy mile in 1:46. Ogden Phipps White Cockade was placed back in training after a brief let up. The colt is galloping and will be called upon for more strenuous work within the next few days.
