1 BAY MEADOWS TURF NOTES - Dr. R. E. Lovell, one of Americas foremost veterinarians, was an arrival from the South and will stay for the remainder of the season. Polydorus has been sent to Dr. J. L. Pattersons ranch in Shasta County by Lonnie Copenhaver. The former handicap star will stand in the stub at Dr. Pattersons ranch, and it is probable that Copenhaver will attempt to bring the horse back to training in the fall. Harry Walters purchased the contract on Willard Root, 17, of Kansas City, Mo., from Mrs. R. Birks at private terms. The L. W. Kidd and Mrs. C. T. Leavitt stables engaged in some selling and trading yesterday, Kidd buying Swift Return from . Mrs. Leavitt, who in turn purchased Lee-larious from Kidd. Jockey Phil Savage, under contract to Dr. . George OConnell, resumes riding Tuesday, , having the mount on Monks Jane. Kay Spence reported the arrival yesterday of a foal by Plucky Play Toro Helen, at : his Deep Cliff Farm. Plucky Play has had four foals to date, and all of them are : colts. Mrs. Ross Cooper yesterday purchased I Bonagai from the Rancho San Luis Rey, . the stable for which her husband trains. . A
