=6 j INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE j J HOLDS FIRST MEETING j LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 2.— The first meeting of the committee for forming plans for international racing between American-, English- and French-owned horses was held in the office of Col. Matt J. Winn, executive director of Churchill Downs, Inc., today. Herbert Bayard Swope, of the New York racing commission; Charles Franklin Adams, owner of Suffolk Downs; Walter Donovan, president of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners; Col. Matt J. Winn and Joseph E. Widener, president of Belmont and Hialeah Parks, were present. Mr. Swope stated that he had not heard from the governing bodies of the English and French racing associations and that he believed it best to contract the horse owners individually. Under the plans outlined by Mr. Swope, there would be a race for three-year-olds and one for four-year-olds and upward. The first of the races would be staged at the Belmont Park fall meeting, the second at Latonia, and the third at Hialeah or Santa Anita. — — — — — A
