I AURORA TURF NOTES s A. K. Miller reported the purchase of the three-year-old Independent Way from Otto Bagley and Little Van from C. E. Davison. The terms of the transactions were private. Stewards T. C. Bradley and J. T. Ireland, who served at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans, decided to amend the ruling taken against jockey Dale Edwards to read as follows: "D. Edwards, jockey, suspended for six months from March 3, 1936." Frank M. Otis, who was one of the patrol judges during the Aurora meeting, got away for Detroit, Mich., Friday night to report for a similar position at the Detroit Fair Grounds. While horses remain quartered at the Aurora track George Swain will accept entries here for the Hawthorne meeting. In the event Rushaway comes out of his engagement in the Illinois Derby in good shape, he will be loaded, on an express car and headed for Latonia, where he will be a starter in the Latonia Derby. Tucker Eddy, youngest son of R. S. Eddy, Jr., president of the Fox Valley Jockey Club, was a visitor at Aurora for the Derby. He plans to return to New Orleans Sunday. Frank Bain, veteran handicapper, will get away -for New York Sunday, where he will remain throughout the summer. Francois Martineau, who has charge of the money room at the Aurora course, has made arrangements to return to New Orleans, where he now makes his home. Jockey Charles Parke, who drew a suspension for rough riding in the seventh race Thursday, departed Friday night for Detroit, where he will join the stable of Mrs. A. M. Creech. Jack Klucina and V. H. McMullen have decided to ship their small stables of thoroughbreds to Ak-Sar-Ben for the thirty-three day meeting at the Omaha course. Jockey Joe OMalley will remain in Illinois to ride Patchpocket in the" Hawthorne Inaugural Handicap Saturday afternoon arid then departs for Massachusetts, where he will report to L. L. Chambers. H. D. Cox has decided on a campaign over the New England tracks and plans to get away from Aurora some time Saturday. Kur-inec, S. Erwin, T. Meloche, C. Parvin, C. Parke, E. Rodriguez, and L. Turner. Winnipeg J. Boucher, M. Terry, G. Wit-mer. A. K. Miller has made preparations to ship the thoroughbreds he is training for Murdock and McQuillan and his own to Riverside Park Saturday night. Eddie Stopps, custodian of the press box, will devote all of his time to the handling of the activities of the Aurora Recreation Center now that the Fox Valley meeting has reached its climax.
