Hawthorne turf notes i s s Special race trains between Hawthorne and the Loop will be run over the elevated system and the Illinois Central. Trains over the Illinois Central will leave Van Buren and Michigan at 12:50, 1:10 and 1:30 on Saturdays and at 1:10 and 1:30 on week days, while the elevated will have trains leaving the Loop at intervals of ten minutes. Elevated trains connect with buses at Fifty-Second Avenue. Patrol judges engaged for the meeting as announced today are William Doyle, George Swain and Thomas A. Steele. E. L. Fitzgerald, trainer of N. W. Churchs stable, forwarded the entries of. Termination and Valiant Fox for the Chicago Derby, to be run on Saturday, June 20. The Church stable will leave California for Arlington Park within a few days. E. J. Rollins is shipping three horses from California and they are due here tomorrow. Nominations for the ,000 added Decoration Day Handicap, to be run one week from Saturday and for three-year-olds and upward, close Saturday at midnight. This stake, second of Hawthornes six principal races, will be decided over one mile and one-sixteenth. Subscriptions are at 0 each and weights will be announced Monday. Hawthornes "Daily Double" will be based on the first and third races with betting on the combination closing at 2:15 daily. This is five minutes before post time for the : first race.
