ROMOLA sprinted into a clear lead directly after the start, rallied nicely when challenged entering the stretch and, continuing gamely, barely lasted long enough to withstand WEE PRINCESS. The latter followed closest to the winner from the beginning, responded to punishment and was wearing the winner down gradually. MUCKLE DO, placed on the outside for the start, worked his way up on the outside and was easily best of the others. BROADCASTER was under strong urging all the way, but could not engage the leaders. MELOY was away forwardly and held a contending position while saving ground, but was not good enough. FIELD MOUSE was in tight quarters most of the way while on the inside. THERMAL showed a flash of early speed. BOCA CHICA broke very slowly after acting unruly at the post. Scratched 27055JSemester, 115. WORTHING, on the inside from the beginning and racing in the thick of contention, responded gamely to punishment and, closing stoutly in the last quarter mile, was up in the last sixteenth. BIG ONE had nice speed while setting the pace, met strong bids from CENTERMARCH and held on stoutly at the end. ZOWIE improved her position on the outside and came with good courage. CONTRIBUTE came through a narrow opening during the stretch run and was going fast at the end. CRATAEGUS was blocked midway of the turn when attempting to come through on the inside.
