SIR ROSE went to the front early to open up a good lead and, shaken up after entering the stretch, had enough left to hold MOKENA. The latter came fast after leaving the back stretch and, although stumbling in the stretch, went well to the end and was gaining. EPINEL could not keep up with the early leaders, but she showed a fair effort. BRONC RIDER ran a good half mile. FANLE did not appear to like the going and was beaten off. BOILING POINT also showed a good effort and was always closest to the winner and far in front of the others. UNCLE FRED closed some ground to best LADY MARLBORO. The latter j.crformed poorly and was never a serious, contender for first or second place. The latter made his move on the outside around the stretch turn, was permitted to race beyond the middle of the track in the stretch and was probably best. EARLY HOUR showed improvement in the going. DONDAY was in close quarters on the inside of DONNA WOOD when his rider foolishly attempted to get through approaching the stretch turn and had to take back, but came again to race well through the stretch. SERGEANT HILL closed ground steadily and was going well at the finish. PROUD PRINCESS showed a fair effort. DONNA WOOD tired badly. LONGUS was badly outrun.
