ROBERT L., quick to begin and displaying good speed, quickly shook off PHALASAN when entering the stretch, withstood a mild challenge from MINSTREL SHOW and drew out fast as the latter tired. MINSTREL SHOW, fractious at the post and raced wide throughout, made a bid under-strong pressure after leaching the stretch, but tired badly in the last eighth. OVERPLAY, far out of it in the early racing, came with a rush on the outside in the stretch. PHALASAN, given a hustling ride, showed speed, but failed .to keep up in the stretch. NEVER TIRE, also rank at the post, could not get up. EARLY TIMES lost ground. BROWN PRODIGY, on the inside throughout, faltered in the stretch. GOLDMAN quit. Scratched Sunset Girl, 112. WILD COUNT raced wide when under strong restraint the first five-eighths, raced around, the leaders gradually approaching the stretch and, tiring in the final- eighth, won under pressure. MAJOR GREENOCK, under stout reserve for three-quarters, came to the outside in the stretch and, closing well, was wearing down the winner. WEE EMMA lost much ground on the first turn, saved some ground in the back stretch, but came out in the stretch and tired after moving up slightly. SHORT SKIRT tired. OUR" PATTY had. early speed. INSCONA moved up on the .inside on the turn, then raced evenly to the final sixteenth, where he. tired. RECOVERY began fast, bore out on the turn and continued to swerve thereafter. WHISCENDA. given a hustling ride, had speed .from the start and tired in the late stages, but outstayed REAPING REWARD. The latter, away poorly and raced wide, showed a fine effort.
