BIG CROWD AT RIVERSIDE Kansas City Course Taxed to Its Capacity to Entertain Saturdays Gathering Ideal Conditions. KANSAS CITY, Mo., Juno C. A crowd that taxed the capacity of Riverside Park, turned out Saturday to witness an excel-cent program of eight races. Sprints and long distance races split the program, and excellent sport resulted. The weather was ideal, with the track at its best. The feature race, which was the sixth on the card, styled the Muehlebach Hotel Handicap, at the one mile route, attracted a small but select field. Outsiders dominated the early races and favorites fared badly. St. Mica, from the stable of Mrs. II. G. Hyde, was returned the winner of the first race when, coming from behind in the stretch, she dorc down the pacemaking Marmulus to win, going away, by two lengths, with the latter saving the place from Crystal Flyer by a short neck. Red Polly, a rank outsider in the wagering, was the surprise winner of the second race, coming from behind the favorite, Double Sweep, in the last eighth mile, to get up inside the final sixteenth to win by a length. Double Sweep, after racing Sid Lea into defeat, pulled away into a good lead in the stretch, and looked all over the winner a sixteenth out but, after tiring badly, pulled up lame. Donnapecp, the one to show, raced forwardly all the way and held on gamely to take that portion of the purse.
