KING ROYALE moved up fast after leaving the back stretch to catch BLANDEN and, taking a short lead, showed the way to the end. HIDDEN ONE was in close quarters several times and showed good effort. KELCONARD was outrun a trifle in the early stages and was forced to race wide while making his move in the stretch. BLANDEN was used up setting the pace and tired. The others were never dangerous. BOSS MARTIN came to the outside on the stretch turn and, finishing very fast in the middle of the track, caught RAINBEARER in the last fifty yards to win going away. The latter showed good early speed under bard urging and drew clear of the field after entering the stretch, but was unable to resist the winner. BON FUME closed much ground and was going well at the end. FLYING ZAC tired in the stretch. FLORA-GINA was used up trying to head RAINBEARER in the early stages. AMAZER showed arly speed. PRINCESS ATHENE, always close up, moved up to challenge in the stretch and went well to the end. LT. GREENOCK was rather slow to get in stride, but closed ground. BAKERSTOWN lacked early speed but moved fast on the outside when ready and, easily taking command in the stretch, won going away. BOSWORTH took a short lead rounding the stretch turn to draw into a good lead, but although going well to the end, could not resist the winner. HI-SWEET came again after dropping back and was going well at the end. BLACK SLEEVE also closed well. KEENE JACK got through an opening on the inside approaching the far turn to take a short lead, but tired badly in the stretch. DANKE SCHON quit badly. LADY ROMA drew away from KEOKEE after going half the distance and, responding to urging in the stretch, held BALKAN LAND at the end. The latter was outrun by the winner and KEOKEE in the early part, then saved ground on the stretch turn to move up steadily, but barely saved second place. BELOW ZERO came to the outside in the stretch ,to finish fast in the middle of the track and would have been second in a few more strides. KEOKEE was used up helping make the pace.
