SUSPECT COLT HAD RABIES Head of TwoYearOld Thinking De ¬ livered to University of Ken ¬ tucky for Examination LEXINGTON Ky May 5 Whitney Moores Thinking twoyearold grey colt by Kiev Virginia Flynn by McGee was de ¬ stroyed at Keeneland late last week and Monday his head was delivered to officials of the Kentucky experiment station at the University of Kentucky for examination Dr Fraser Smith who destroyed Thinking stated that the colt was in his opinion afflicted with rabies rabiesI I believe said Dr Smith that Thinking may have been bitten by one of several mad dogs on the loose in Fayette County last fall The colt at that time was at Mere Hill Farm where he was foaled It is my opinion that the germ remained latent in the colt manifesting itself only last week when the colt became unmanageable and finally on Saturday morning so violent that none could enter his stall It became neces ¬ sary to shoot him through the heart in order to complete his destruction
