New York Tracks to Pay Premium to Breeders BreedersNEW NEW YORK N Y May 5 The five New York racing asso ¬ ciations announced jointly here today that they will pay a breed ¬ ers premium in every race run in this state this year This award will be in addition to the regular purse To the breeder of the winner of every race will be paid 25 and to the breeder of every horse who finishes second the sum of 15 will be paid This premium is retroactive to April 1 It will be paid through The Jockey Club ClubThe The five major racing associations in New York State are the Metropolitan Jockey Club operating Jamaica Westchester Racing Association Belmont Park Queens County Jockey Club Aqueduct Empire City Racing Association Empire City and the Saratoga Association which normally operates at Saratoga Springs but which will transfer its meeting this year to one of the tracks in the Metropolitan district districtPaying Paying a total of 40 to the breeders of the first and second horses in every race run this year the season opened April 8 and will close November 3 the five racing associations will dis ¬ tribute approximately 57400 Last year there were 1435 races run during a season of approximately equal length In 1942 the total purse distribution in New York was 3541485
