Fair Grounds Taken Over But on Temporary Basis BasisNEW NEW ORLEANS La May 5 The United States Coast Guard and Army Air Force are in occupation of the Fair Grounds race track here but only temporarily The Coast Guard took over part of the back stretch and a few barns for the pur ¬ pose of training men and horses for mounted patrol duty pending con ¬ struction of its base on the lake front frontThe The local base for bombing planes Is being enlarged and until the work is completed the offices of the Fair Grounds Breeders and Racing Asso ¬ ciation and the lower part of the grandstand are being used as admin ¬ istrative headquarters It is expected that the two branches of the armed forces will vacate the property long before the 19431944 racing season is scheduled to open
