Lt . Col. W. H, Kite Lauds Detroits War Relief Aid DETROIT, Mich., June 28.— Lt. Col. William H. Kite, Jr., who looks after Army Emergency Relief in the Michigan sector, announced today that thoroughbred racing at the Detroit Fair Grounds has given much aid to his organization. "We have received 09,124 for this extremely necessary fund in 1942 and 1943," said Colonel Kite. "Of this total, the Detroit Racing Association has given 7,515.70, the most recent donation being 3,000. I do not see how we could have carried on this essential and much needed relief work if it had not been for the race tracks contributions." Donations made to the Army Emerkency Relief Fund constituted the entire gate receipts from the first four Saturdays of the 1943 season and Memorial Day as well. For the next few Saturdays and July 5 all gate admissions received at the Detroit Fair Grounds are to be turned over to the Navy Relief Fund.
