Pellicle, Fleet West Annex Final Narragansett Stakes NARRAGANSETT PARK, Pawtucket, R. I., May 25. — Hal Price Headleys Pellicle, well rested since his unsuccessful run in the Kentucky Derby, made a shore of seven other three-year-olds in the 5,000 Providence Stakes, which featured the close of the 31 -day meeting today. Backed down to 7-to-10 by the 28,000 patrons, the son of Sir Damion raced to a six length victory over E. W. Cragins Midway Sun who led M. A. Tuckers Vassallo by half length. Pellicle picked up 3,220 by his victory here today, after completing the mile and a sixteenth in 1:44%. Fleet West carried the green and gold silks of Alfred Richer to a thrilling victory in the ,500 Narragansett Nursery Stakes, the five furlong sprint for two-year-olds which proceded the richer Providence Stakes.
