TOPIC, outrun early, came to the middle of the track for stretch run and, responding to brisk handling, disposed of SUSAN E. in the last sixteenth. SUSAN E. engaged NOT TOMORROW to the stretch and shook off the latter, but could not hold TOPIC. RIVER JACK could not get to the leaders when set down for the drive. KEE-HO held on well to the last furlong, was impeded when MISS TEXAS fell, then finished strongly when clear. HAVANA LAD lacked early speed and was never dangerous. MISS GAZER was outrun. EL CABRILLO could not keep up. NOT TOMORROW went to the front at once, made the pace to the stretch, then weakened. GOOD MESSAGE was away slowly. SWEET IRENE, alertly ridden, assumed command at once, shook off BULMONT entering the stretch and, ridden out, easily held GRACE A. safe. The latter, outrun early, came to the inside for the drive and finished strongly under punishment, but could not menace SWEET IRENE, although easily best of the others. BULMONT, away fast, engaged SWEET IRENE until inside the stretch, then weakened. WOLFESS failed to stay after racing prominently to the final quarter. HAY VOY lacked early speed and could not threaten the leaders when set down in the drive. TIMANDRA, on the outside throughout, tired. LITTLE JAMES could not keep up. GINGERETTE, well handled, assumed command at once, responded readily when ridden out through the stretch and held MUD GUARD safe. The latter, sent to the inside for the drive, came willingly under punishment, but could not reach GINGERETTE, although easilybest of the others. LAROC held on well to the stretch, then faltered. TRUE TIME raced evenly without mishap to the stretch, then weakened during the drive. SAY PLEASE, on the outside, could not threaten. REAPITINE was outrun. OHIOAN raced greenly. AMPHIBIOUS, away very slowly, but much the best, came to the inside for the stretch run and, finishing fast on his i?.vn courage, disposed of the leaders during the final sixteenth. MISS RHODA, a forward factor from the beginning, bcre out badly entering the stretch, carrying SUNCLAD and HIGH AIR with her, then came again when straightened and reached the lead, but could not withstand the winner. WESTFIELD, much used engaging CAPTAIN DAVE to the stretch, disposed of the latter and continued gamely, but was not good enough. HIGH AIR, forced wide on the stretch turn, could not get to the leaders when set down in the drive. CAPTAIN DAVE engaged WESTFIELD to the stretch, then weakened. BRONZE MEDAL made a good bid near the stretch, then tired. SUNCLAD failed to recover after being forced wide on the stretch turn. NANCY FLY was outrun. ENCHANTING, alertly ridden, went to the front before going a quarter, held a clear lead entering the stretch, but stumbled near the furlong pole and came again when roused, lasting to withstand MAY FLY. The latter, away slowly, worked her way forward steadily, was sent to the inside for the drive and, finishing fast, was getting to ENCHANTING. CORINA LARK, never far back, came to the outside for the drive and made a good bid when roused, then faltered nearing the finish. BROOM RIDE was outrun. BE A,BEE had early speed. LITTLE MILLY began fast, raced prominently to the upper turn, then tired badly. WARD, away poorly, was permitted to work his way forward steadily while racing in the middle of the track, responded readily when mildly roused entering the stretch and, after wearing down the leaders, appeared ready to increase his advantage. KAYS LOVE went to the front early, gave way momentarily to SHADOW SHOT entering the stretch, then came again and outgamed the latter. SHADOW SHOT, forwardly placed from the beginning, reached the lead on the final turn, held on willingly when set down in the drive, but was not good enough. SHOW, forwardly placed after three-eighths, made a good bid approaching the stretch, but was unable to menace the winner and lasted to withstand ALLDEPENDS. The latter, never far back, came to the outside entering the stretch but could not better her position under brisk handling. AGRARIAN SON began sluggishly and was never dangerous.
