L., who won the seventy-third running of the Clark Handicap before he was sent to Chicago from Kentucky, has proven that he is one of the outstanding performers of the present season. In his initial appearance here, the Letellier gelding, a son of Jack High and Burgee, defeated a fair band in the twentieth running of the 0,000 added Crete Handicap, while shouldering 119 pounds.
