Maryland Notes PIMLICO Baltimore Md May 8 Jockey N L Pierson and his agent George Wood were arrivals from Kentucky for the Dixie They will return to Louis ¬ ville after todays card but will be back next Saturday when Pierson will be on Calumet Farms Coaltown in the Preakness Wood formerly was the agent for jockey Albert Snider who was lost on a fishing trip off the Florida keys just after the Hialeah meeting When he saddled Tiger Trap to win the fifth race for the Bomar Stable R E Potts moved into a tie with Sid Jacobs for the lead among the conditioners at the meeting each with three winners Jockey Johnny Breen went to Garden State Park to fulfill a stakes engagement astride Golden Bull but will be back in action here Monday Charlton Clays Lea Lark a candidate for next Fridays Pimlico Oaks was due here today from Delaware Park where she has been stabled with others shipped to that point from Kentucky The twomile steeplechase scheduled for Monday is called the Tom Clark and in connection with the naming of the race there is a real MarylandPimlico flavor Tom Clark was an outstanding jumper and timber horse at the turn of the century winning the Maryland Hunt Cup in 1900 and on that occasion he was ridden by George Brown Jr who now serves as one of the stewards of the Maryland Jockey Club meetings
