Jockey Johnny Longden Rides 4,000th Winner HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., May 15. — Jockey Johnny Longden reached a new milestone in his brilliant career when he drove Mrs, Hertz two-year-old filly Fleet Diver to victory for his 4,000th winner in the third race here this afternoon. No other jockey in the world has ridden more winners except Englands Gordon Richards who has some 4,400 odd. The 42-year-old rider was given a thunderous ovation by the crowd as he reached his goal, an all-time American riding record expected to stay unbroken for many years to come. The victory came on Longdens third mount for the day after he had finished second in the first race and out of the money in the second race.
