KEWPIE was a sharp factor from the break, took a clear lead in the stretch and won under urging. BONE CHINA, with the leaders from the beginning, held on determinedly, but was not good enough. EQUABLEU was with the first flight throughout and showed a good effort. TH0RIS, sluggish early, made a game bid in the stretch and faltered slightly. SNOWDROP had speed and dropped back while bearing in. IMPERIAL LAMAR lacked a closing rally. AMULIKA was shuffled back shortly after the start. OUR SUSAN was outrun. TO THE FRONT failed to menace. PETITPOINT, between horses while with the first flight, took command inside the furlong post and was drawing clear at the end. BELLE JET, hustled along in the opening quarter mile, was forced to race wide while in command and faltered in the drive. MANY ISLANDS closed with good courage after a slow beginning. P0LYVIXEN was taken up sharply on the inside nearing the turn and failed to rally again. SOUFFLE had speed for a half mile and weakened, as did SWEET COLLEEN. ORNAMENT broke alertly, then dropped back rapidly and failed to menace. PLEASURE went well for a half mile and tired. Scratched— 22515 Freckle Face, 115. COUNT TRIM veered in leaving the gate, raced alongside the winner until inside the furlong post, was no match, but held on willingly. CHIEF FANELLI caught tired horses. GROVER B. raced within striking distance from the outset, made up ground on the outside, took command when ready and drew away. OLD IRONSIDES shook off HEAP BIG CHIEF midway of the stretch, could not match strides with the top one in the drive and tired, but lasted for the place. OLYMPIC dropped back as though through rounding the turn, suddenly regained good stride when straightened for the drive and finisned stoutly. COLD COMMAND, taken back under restraint, made a mild bid when called upon. HEAP BIG CHIEF pressed the pace for six furlongs, then gave way. BRER FOX was through early. MIXTURE showed nothing. SWEET NAOMI moved into contention leaving the half-mile post, came through a narrow opening to assume command and was best despite lugging in through the drive. BENHADAR, outrun in the early stages, saved ground to reach the leaders and just missed. IRVINGTON lost ground on the outside of horses, loomed dangerously in midstretch, but was not good enough. DEEP BLUE was also carried wide on the final turn while well placed. GILLIE YOUNG had good speed from the start, but ran out nearing the half-mile post, was straightened to re-enter contention, then drifted out on the turn, bothering DEEP BLUE and IRVINGTON.
