Derwood Mills Burn Down DERWOOD, Md., June 7. The Derwood Mills, which has manufactured Derwood Crunch for the past 25 years and is used as a special feed for thoroughbred horses, was completely destroyed by fire this morning. The corporation, which is jointly owned by Harry P. Arnold and Richard T. Schwartz, is located a short distance out of Baltimore The damage was estimated at 50,000, and the big problem in fighting the fire was that the nearest water to the plant was located three-quarters of a mile away. All records of the company were also destroyed and so horsemen who have orders in for Derwood Crunch and do not receive them . will know the reason why.
