Favored Tahiti Carries Off Honors in French Oaks Special to Daily Racing Form CHANTILLY, France, June 7 Reu-trs .Madame Jean Couturies Tahiti, 7-to-2 favorite, won the French Oaks Prix de Diane over 10 and a half furlongs here Sunday. Taking the lead entering the straightaway and finishing with a fine burst of speed, Tahiti beat the Aga Khans Baghiceh by a length and a half. Roger Mathedumais Uptala was a close third, only a neck behind in the field of 14. Tahiti, by Tornao, out of Gradisca, was ridden by Maurice Larraun and trained by Etienne Pollet both of whom won last years race on La Sorellino. The race was worth 6,500 to the winning owner.
