► Wise Margin Clocked Mile In 1:39% at Suffolk Downs SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 3. — Wise Margin, winner of the 1954 renewal of the 0,000 added Massachusetts Handicap, was on the track this morning and indulged in a strenous one mile workout. The Samuel Tufano colorbearer covered the eight furlongs in a handy fashion while being clocked in 1:39%. Trainer S. M. Edmundson was astride the strapping son of Market Wise sending him the first half mile in :48% and a six furlong fraction of 1:14. ; Todays work was the first serious time trial for Wise Margin since his easy victory in the mile and one -sixteenth Plymouth Rock Handicap some 10 days ago and is consequently the first step of a series of workouts planned to get him up to another victory in this years running of the Massachusetts Handicap.
