SLEEPY NORMA saved ground while working v/ay forward to the stretch, remained next to the inner rail for the drive and, responding to punishment, disposed of the leaders and won going away. PRINCESS STELL, a sharp factor from the start, reached the lead in the stretchy bore in badly during the final furlong and could not stay with the top one. MISS MARY ANNE raced evenly in a good effort and had no excuse. SKIPPING TIDE took an early lead, raced with PRINCESS STELL until inside the stretch, then weakened. DONNA lacked early speed. BALLISTA raced wide. GAME PRINCE bore out badly -entering the stretch. GOLD SWIVEL tired. IVY ANN, rank at the post, began sluggishly and was never a serious contender. MAHPLAY, well placed from the start, responded to good handling during the stretch run and, disposing of OVERWHELM, won going away. The latter began fast, made the pace until inside the stretch but was unable to hold the winner. SPUNKY, forced wide entering the stretch, closed willingly when straightened for the drive. MR. WIGGINS gave a good performance and had no mishap. TREADA BQY saved ground during the stretch run but could not threaten the leaders. JETTS KISS raced well to the upper turn, then weakened. COLLECT was outrun and had no excuse. DANGER MARTIN lacked early foot. TEAPOY raced well to the stretch but failed to stay when set down in the .drive. THEMIS showed nothing. GRAY RAIDER, away sluggishly, was hustled to reach serious contention, then tired. NEWTON AIRDS was never prominent. ROMAN BOSS went to the front early, retained a clear advantage after entering the stretch, but was briskly handled thereafter to withstand IMPRESSED. The latter, a forward factor from the start, closed gamely under punishment, but was unable to overtake the top one, although much the best of the others. SHUSHANNA KID was outrun and had no mishap. NIGHT INTRUDER closed fairly well under punishment. SIVIS, racing on the outside throughout, failed to rally when set down through the stretch. KY. GOLD had early speed, but failed to stay. FLYING FURY, in hand while steadily improving position to the stretch, swerved to the inside when set down in the drive, continued gamely when straightened up and disposed of the leaders in the last sixteenth, then worked out an additional quarter in 2:07. JEANS JOE, reserved to the stretch, reached the lead between calls near the three-sixteenths mile pole, finished fairly well but was not good enough for the winner. NABESNA, well placed and savinq ground from the outset, took command during the stretch run, suffered mild interference when FLYING FURY swerved, then failed to rally when clear but worked out a mile and one-quarter in 2:06%. HONEYS ALIBI, never far back, made a bold bid ~ in the early stretch, was forced wide during the drive and tired when nearing the finish. JETT FLAME raced well to the stretch, then gave way. PRINCE NOOR began slowly and was unable to reach serious contention. STY-RUNNER could not keep up after showing early speed. GEMERICA was never prominent.
