SCAIRT RABBIT took a short lead over DANGEROUS DAN the first time around and drew out slightly after going half the distance, but was all out to hold the latter at the end. DANGEROUS DAN raced gamely and closest to the leader after being headed and, closing with fine courage, just failed to get up. WISE BILLING, although badly beaten by the first two, was clearly best of the others. BIG QUESTION finished fairly well. WHIRL AWHILE failed to threaten in a dull effort. BAD MARGIE was off poorly, then raced up next the rail but was in close quarters around the far turn. CAPTAIN CAROLA, TINY HEART and MISS SPADI went very wide around the second turn. JALBOPATE was in close quarters going to the first turn and, required to ease, quickly moved to contention to overtake TALKING JULIE in the stretch and won under pressure. WHITS ROSE was never too far from the pace and finished gamely on the outside to take second place in the closing strides. TALKING JULIE had early speed, but weakened in the stretch. TUFFY DOE went evenly. RIGOLADE and BLOWE bore out badly on the second turn. MERRY SWEEPER responded readily when called upon to move up strongly and catching BIG BARGAIN, after entering the stretch, won under ordinary urging. BIG BARGAIN went to the front at once to open up a good lead, and while unable to resist the winner, was not menaced by the others. MOKATUCK began slowly and was badly outrun early but finished fast. JUDY ROUNDERS was bothered slightly when SEPPIE stumbled early. GOLDEN APOLLO was close enough early but weakened near the end. TEDDYS HEIR was in trouble early. STREAKING was reserved for the first half, but came strongly when called upon and dashing down the middle of the track in the stretch, caught AIR FLIGHT to win going away. AIR FLIGHT headed the field early and increased his margin nearing the stretch turn, then savecT ground to hold on well. FRENCH BLEU had something removed chasing AIR FLIGHT in the first part and had little left CENTENAIRE was unable to keepup. HY-ILL GO had some early speed. The others were outpaced. The latter responded well in the last quarter and was gaining on the winner. GRAND JUROR trailed to the last quarter, then came fast in the middle of the track.
