JACK THE GREAT, within striking distance early, continued on willingly and wore down the tiring DARCY. The latter was able to draw clear after shaking off FLYING JET, held sway until the final stride and just missed. JERSEY DEVIL made up ground steadily. METAXA was unable to attain the early advantage and continued on willingly to make up ground. RED AND YELLOW failed to reach contention. BUBOLA MOWLEE was crowded when unable to keep pace along the backstretch, saved ground thereafter but lacked a rally. FLYING JET stopped to a walk after being in front early. FLY WHEEL was fortunate to secure room along the inside while moving to the leader, continued to save ground and responded gamely to outfinish the opposition. BELMONT BREEZE raced wide to Join the leaders and lacked the needed late -response. JENJAY was always a contender and held on gamely. PENOCC sprinted clear in the opening furlong, continued to race for command after having been displaced, then gave way in the final furlong.
