0,000 Turf Handicap Saturday Mister Black, Sea O Erin Will Start Balmoral Also Will Present 5,000 Joliet Stakes for Two-Yea r-Olds Wednesday WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., June 4. — Next Saturdays inaugural running of the 0,000 added Balmoral Turf Handicap, which is expected to match some of the nations top-level grass runners, will climax Balmorals fourth week of racing at Washington Park. Only Hasty House Farms Stan, 1954 grass champion, was missing from the large nominations roster to the mile and three-sixteenths turf headliner. The Hasty House connections felt Stan was not ready for a topnotch performance this early. Trainer Harry Trotsek is bringing Stan around carefully, after an injury this spring in Kentucky, with eyes affixed on the rich turf events to be offered during the Arlington Park-Washington Park coordinated meeting, which gets under way June 20. The fourth week of Balmoral thoroughbred sport will gather momentum toward its week-end climax on Wednesday when the 5,000 added Joliet Stakes for two-year-olds will be renewed for the 28th year. The Joliet, five and one-half furlongs dash for two-year-olds, attracted 69 youngsters, headed by" Tiger Wander, recent winner of the" Apprentice Stakes at Balmoral. Other top-level juveniles already on the grounds prepping for the Joliet test are C. F. Morriss Colonel Wilson and William Hal Bishops Skeptical Kid, second and third place finishers in the recent Apprentice sprint. Mooers Has Strong Entry Other youngsters of stakes calibre whom Farrell regards as possible starters are Clifford Mooers double-barrel filly twosome of Cherry and Birch; Hasty House Farms contingent of v Roman Boss, Dublin Star, Hasty Queen, and Mister Lucky; Arthur Saucier, Jr. and R. W. Cashs Almas Cash, Fred Hoopers Olympia Ace and Olympian, and Mrs. Joseph Tomlinsons Homeplace. the Nasrullah colt now rated as the top juvenile candidate in this area. Trainer Vance Longden has arrived with a unit of the Alberta Ranches string but left St. Vincent, recent winner of the Dixie in record-breaking time on the grass, in the East. Longden said he wanted St. Vincent to rest a while following his hard race in the Suburban. Whether hell be along later in the week is problematical. Hasty House will hurl a stout challenge at all in the form of Mister Black, the Argentina-bred grass performer who recently captured the inaugural running of the Continental Turf Handicap, equalling the one mile and one-eighth Washington. _,turf course record 1:49.
