Won driving; second and third the same. RUSSELL TS took command on the outside after going a quarter and, although bearing out in the final sixteenth, held sway to the end to win under urging. LE SABRE moved gamely on the outside of the leader in the stretch and held on well. MR. NEAL came fast-to find an opening in the final sixteenth. SPECIFIC, never far away, moved up in the stretch but failed to display much finishing strength. SERVICE and MAHPLAY were always outrun. LADY ELECT trailed during the first three furlongs, then improved her position gradually and, coming to the middle of the track in the stretch, closed fast to pass FLEET DREAM and win going away. The latter cut the corner on the stretch turn to save much, ground and take command, but was not good enough. NEBULLUS made a fair move in the stretch, but failed to menace the first two. ESPEDECO was used up making the pace and shaking off MORSE FLASH and had little left MR. BOOTS failed to be a good contender. MORSE FLASH and DIRECT NORTH went well for six furlongs, then gave way. MEDICO was well placed in the early running and, coming fast well out from the rail in the stretch, headed SPRINGLIKE to win going away. SMUGSY WUGSY moved up after entering the stretch, and finished with good courage. SPRINGLIKE made the pace under rating, but was unable to draw clear and had .little left. GOLD MEDAL saved ground on the stretch turn to loom as a contender, but hung in the final drive. HIT ME closed a qap. ETHERIDGE made a fairly good run after entering the stretch, but faded in the final fifty yards. SKIPPYS FIRST was through after going six furlongs. SOLID ROCK was badly outrun. FIGHTING JURY was closest to ALCOVA while the latter was setting the pace and, catching him weakening in the stretch, took command but was doing her best at the end to hold CIDERMAN. The latter moved up on the inside after entering the stretch and was gaining. RICKEY RAY, outrun early, was going strongly at the finish. ANDREW J. faltered after moving to contention in the stretch. NIRGAL LAD trailed the field in the first quarter, but moved strongly when called upon and.although racing in the middle of the track through the stretch, got to the front in the final sixteenth and held RECLINE under urging. The latter also made up ground in the stretch to finish well. CROWN DERBY headed SUTHERN ACCENT after entering the stretch, but faltered in the final drive. AIR FLIGHT was in rathertight quarters on the inside in the stretch, but finished well. MASTER RED was unable to seriously challenge for the leadership and tired. SUTHERN ACCENT also tired. IRISH BRUSH was close to the pace from the start and, catching UP STAGE at midstretch, increased his margin under hand riding there- • after. DAYLIGHT EXPRESS moved up on the outside after entering-the stretch and finishing steadily, caught UP STAGE in the last strides. The latter dashed to the front on the outside in the first quarter and saved ground while setting the pace, but faltered near the finish. HI JET, outrun early, was racing strongly at the end. RETRACT was always outrun. MISS ROMAN tired. TEXAS BULLDOG was never dangerous and worked out an extra quarter mile after the finish. BLUE VIOLIN was held under steadying restraint for the first half-mile, then moved up on the outside to become a serious threat and easily take command after entering the final furlong, scoring much as her rider pleased. LORI-JANE raced close to the pace on the outside in the early running and caught INSOUCIANT in the stretch but, although going well to the end, was no match for the winner. COSENTINA was always a fairly good contender and held on with courage. QUEEN HOPEFUL was outrun to the stretch and then closed some ground in the middle of the track. The latter raced THE PRINCE into defeat in the first six furlongs and held on well when challenged. CHEROKEE PILOT lacked sufficient racing room early and saved ground in the stretch to finish well. BUT WHY was outpaced early and raced wide in the stretch. THE PRINCE tired. CHANCE ALARM was close enough for six furlongs, but went wide on the stretch turn and tired badly.
