SYRIAN GIRL, well placed from the start, raced by COTEAUX BOY after entering the stretch and drew clear under urging. ROBERT GABE, outrun to the last three-eighths, drifted out entering the stretch, then closed determinedly but was unable to seriously threaten the top one. TURN BLUE bore out at the stretch turn, then finished willingly when straight for the drive. COTEAUX BOY went to the front early and quit when challenged by SYRIAN GIRL. WAG JAG steadily improved his position to the stretch, responded to strong handling during the drive and wore down PICKMEN in the last sixteenth. The latter, reserved early, reached the lead in the stretch after disposing of PIPING ECHO, held on gamely, but could not withstand the top one, although much the best of the others. A claim of foul against WAG JAG by PICKMENs rider was not allowed. PIPING ECHO, a sharp factor from the start, approached the stretch with a clear advantage, but faltered when set down for the drive. MISS TIDWELL had early speed. GIFTED HAZEL was never dangerous and had no excuse. AMULET showed nothing. DONNA was through early. Wag Jag claimed by C. Greene. FIFTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. SIR RHYMER, a keen factor from the start, drifted to the outside entering the stretch, then responded to vigorous urging and wore down LITTLE DON G. in the last strides. LITTLE DON G. raced forwardly placed from the start, settled in the stretch with a clear lead but was wable to withstand the winner and just missed. ALACASSULA lacked earjy foot but finished fast under oriss urging. GOLDEN PELT gave a good performance and dead-heated with LIABILITY for fourth. LIABILITY, away sluggishly, gradually worked way forward and was up to finish on equal lerms with GOLDEN PELT. , SAM PARK lacked racing room entering the stretch but failed to rally when clear for the drive. SIR RUSTOM showed little. MONMOUTH raced well until inside the stretch, then weakened. LILAC could not keep. up. KING Ml DAS was never dangerous. ALAMEDA KID was through early. GRANITE FLYN, never far back, closed gamely when set down through the stretch, was unable to reach the winner, but easily bested the others. FIDGET gave a fair effort and had no excuse. ROSE OF GREY was outrun and had no mishap. HY FRONT showed little. ABLE LADD had early speed, but failed to stay. FLYING GYPSY began sluggishly, was hustled to reach serious contention, then tired badly. DOGEIANA was never prominent. TOP GUY showed nothing. GREATER went to the front early, drifted out entering the stretch and forced BATED BREATH wide, then came again when set down in the drive and held the latter safe, but won with little left. A foul claim against GREATER by BATED BREATHS rider was not allowed by the stewards. BATED BREATH moved up determinedly after the break, was forced to go wide entering the stretch when GREATER bore out, then came again, but could not overtake the top one, although probably best. SISTER BIGGER, never far back, swerved when set down through the stretch and could not overtake the leaders. BOSS JOHN made a bold bid in the early stretch, then faltered. MAGIC CHOICE was outrun and had no mishap. COW TOWN began fast, but dropped out of serious contention immediately after the start. COHERENCE was never dangerous. HOLLY BOUGH showed little. ELAINE RUTH took command at once, set the pace to - the stretch, then faltered when challenged by AIR PINE. TORTILLA tired after showing early speed. TAROM was never dangerous and had -no excuse.
