Won driving; second and third the same. HAM HOCKS, slow to gain best stride, moved up boldly to attain closer contention leaving the final turn, forged to the front inside the stretch and briskly drew clear when fully extended. PUTNEY, forwardly placed from the start, was unable to withstand the challenge of the winner during the stretch run, but held on willingly to easily prevail over the others. GASCONY made the pace to the furlong marker under hustling tactics, then faltered when subjected to stern pressure. PRIZE RING lacked the necessary rally. CORIANTUMR lacked speed. FIGHTING WISE was unable to gain the lead and tired. STANDEE failed to stay. ROYAL CASTLE was forced to take up slightly when in close quarters soon after the start and was unable to recover. HELTOP and BLUE RICHES never were dangerous. SILVER TIDE showed nothing. UNREST made the pace to the stretch under steady rating, responded readily when set down for the drive and in a long drive gamely held STEVIES PAL safe. The latter moved up boldly on the outside nearing the furlong marker, but appeared to hang slightly during the late strides and was unable to overtake the top one. BIG MISTER retained the runner-up position entering the stretch, but faltered when punished and was unable to cope with the top pair. SANFOIN raced evenly through the, final furlong without apparent mishap. STONE SAUCER raced forwardly placed for *ix~ furlongs, then tired. LOOK ALIVE, forced to take up sharply when in close quarters between horses during the run down the backstretch, was unable to recover. STOCK EXCHANGE was unable to keep up. HAM BONE, always within striking distance, responded readily when shaken for the stretch run and was along in the concluding strides to outgame SEEBIT. The latter slipped through next to the inner rail to attain a clear lead leaving the final -turn, then held on determinedly in a sharp effort. ELROSE closed with a belated burst of speed between horses and rapidly was getting to the leaders. COUNT BREEZE, forwardly placed from the start, failed to respond sufficiently when the real test came. ERGO made up some ground when hard hustled through the late stages. COMEAWAY assumed a clear lead immediately after the start, held sway to the. final turn under hustling tactics, then drifted out during the drive while tiring. BORDER SON was through early. WOODBROOK, away alertly, held sway to the stretch under steadying restraint and retained a commanding advantage thereafter without urging. BELLAMY, a sharp factor from the beginning, was unable to seriously endanger the leader when hard ridden through the late stages, but held on willingly to outgame BLACK COYOTE. The latter was compelled to take the complete overland route leaving the final turn and was unable to reach the leaders when straightened. VALI DON lacked the necessary rally. RICHES came out, for the drive and passed tiring horses. MAINLANDER was outrun. NABESNA lacked ample racing room when set down for the drive. HOTEL MAN, much used early, had little left. NANCES LAD, away fastest, was taken back from the . pace immediately after the start, remained within striking distance of the leaders while in the clear during the run down the backstretch, steadily improved his position along the inner rail around the turn to take command when ready nearing the three-furlong marker and steadily increased his advantage thereafter, winning with speed in reserve. PORTERSVILLE raced SACANDAGA into defeat to assume the lead momentarily between calls after a half mile, gave way to the winner thereafter and, though unable to seriously endanger the latter when shaken for the stretch run, held on to easily best the others. LITTLE DELL, never far back", failed to respond sufficiently when set down for the final test. RETAMERO lacked the necessary rally. COURTSHIP never was prominent. FLYING FURY raced wide throughout. PAPER TIGER, sluggish early, secured ample racing room along the inner rail leaving the final lurn to assume a slight lead, then increased his advantage when briskly ridden through the late stages. RED HANNIGAN raced CRISSET into defeat to retain the lead after six furlongs, drifted out slightly when punished during the stretch run and was unable to withstand the challenge of the winner. CAPEADOR, forcecTto take up sharply when in close quarters at the head of the stretch, failed to rally properly when clear. STRAIGHT FACE, shuffled back slightly v/hile along the rail on the far turn, came out for the drive, but was not good enough. CHIEF FANELLI had no apparent mishap: FULL FLIGHT was outrun. BROWN BOOTER was unable to keep up. CRISSET, fractious at the post, engaged the leader for six furlongs, then retired. The latter forged to the front on the far turn, held sway to the furlong marker under steady rating, but faltered, when punished and was unable to hold the top one. SHOWERS END was unable to improve his position when called upon for his best effort. TIPPETYWITCH tired. MR. JONES and NAIRN lacked early speed. GOLD GIN showed nothing during the running and pulled up lame. VIVID swerved sharply leaving the course going into the first turn, regained best stride after being guided back onto the track, but faltered after racing forwardly placed for six furlongs.
