HOPE showed a good order of speed from the start and outgamed STARRY BANNER in the final drive. The latter set the early pace and finished gamely, but tired right at the finish. TREAD LIGHTLY II. began slowly on the extreme outside and raced wide all the way, but finished fast and close up. GYP ran well. TELL ME closed a gap and tired. WARLOCK, close up from: the start, responded gamely when called on in the final drive and got up to win in the last stride. INFIDEL II. showed the most speed and fenced well, but tired badly right at the end. FOUNTAIN FAY seemed under restraint all the way and was a distant third. The others were always outpaced. WODAN raced into lin easy lead while rounding the last turn and his rider then proceeded to take matters easy and threw the race away. PROHIBITION quit after going five-eighths in the lead.
