1 BAY MEADOWS NOTES , " 9 g, : Starter Roy Dickerson wired from Arlington Downs that he was leaving that point via airplane Saturday night and would arrive at Tanforan on. Sunday. Eddie Thomas has been engaged to officiate as starter-for the opening day of racing at the San .Bruno track. The horses of W. Buck, including Al Jolson, Bran Muffin and others, will be shipped .direct to Chicago at the conclusion, of the Bay Meadows meeting. Buck is; a former jockey, who has made good as an owner-trainer. Mrs. C. B; Irwin purchased the two-year-old Color Bell Tuesday morning and the animal carried her silks in the second race Tuesday afternoon. M. H. Morrison, who has been serving as judge and assistant racing secretary, left for Agua Caliente at the conclusion of the Bay Meadows meeting. Morrison will replace judge George, Schilling at the Lower California course. Schilling is coming north to officiate at Tanforan. James F. Gallagher, capable, California official, will again be among the official family on a track in his home state when Tanforan opens. Gallagher will serve as placing judge and clerk of scales.
