LAMP BLACK, a strong factor from the berinning. was forced wide entering the stretch, came fast when straightened, but weakened near the end. GAY ELADE forced the pace under strong handling, rached the lead nearing the final eighth, but quit under pressure. FRISCO raced wide. DUNSPRITE, fractious at the start, but away fastest of all, was steered wide entering the stretch, but made up ground when straiehtened. CHICASHA quit. Scratched— 120612Toano. 100. AMERICAN EMBLEM, away fast but shuffled back soon afterward, worked his way up through the middle of the field, but tired nearing the finish. WINSLOW bore over badly at the start, improved his position rapidly after recovering, but weakened in the drive. FLOWER DAY, used up in pacemaking. quit rapidly in the last quarter. FOOLHARDY quit. SUN ARENA was steadied along until challenged, responded to good urging during the final quarter and held on well. SIR RIDGWAY forced the pace under pressure, swerved to the inside and tired thereafter. XANDRA lost ground. MISS CAREFUL quit. SUN APOLLO was eliminated at the start.
