MARY GORDON dashed to a clear lead early, was under pressure throughout and was doing her best at the end. GLORIOUS EMMA was a sharp contender from the start, made a bold bid when brought to the inside on the stretch turn, but weakened. STORMY CRUISE began alertly, but gradually dropped back while racing wide in the stretch. AUNT JANE raced evenly. LIKE DADDY tired and drifted very w:de. SPECIAL NURSE was outrun. GALLALAD raced within easy striking distance, assumed command with authority when ready, but then was hard urged to hold FULL MEASURE safe. The latter was guided extremely wide for the drive and closed willingly. WEST MILTON was a forward factor ui.der urging and finished well. WHAT raced in company with WEST MILTON on the outside, but was not good enough for the latter. MY SONNY BOY held a clear lead setting the pace for a half mile, then faltered when headed. BLUE FEDORA could not reach the front early and quit. FLOCO was outrun. MINT OMORN bled during the running. Scratched— 19C85 Divie, 110; 32900 Bullow, 110. BLACK BAY moved up fast after a half mile to reach the front from between horses, then gradually increased his advantage under pressure, despite swerving near the finish. BOOTS HAVEN, far back early, rushed into contention on the inside at the far turn, was sharply taken to the extreme outside entering the stretch and loomed dangerously, but was losing ground at the end. DEPENDABLE was well placed on the inside, but lacked a rally. FIRST SWING set the pace under pressure for six furlongs and faltered. BURNING RAY could not handle the footing. HANKIE began fast, shook free from PRINCE RANSOM and opened a clear lead after a quarter mile and held the opposition safe under urging. FIGHTING MAD was not far back and finished determinedly on the inside. PRINCE RANSOM was unable to outsprint the winner and gradually weakened. FATHER LINK circled wide for the drive. SENORIL moved up fast when he settled in stride, but bolted wide into the stretch and could not get up when straightened. FRENCHTOWN ran in climbing fashion early. BULL was outrun. BLUE HELMET was occasionally urged while in closest attendance to FLOWER HAT, then responded determinedly to punishment in the stretch drive and was up in the last strides. FLOWER HAT set the pace under pressure, came out slightly entering the stretch and fouaht it out gamely. BAR never was far back, appeared dangerous while saving ground on the stretch turn, but was not gaining at the finish. LUCKY NED tired. CREW-CUT and STAG were never in contention. PORTO BELLO was urged in close pursuit of the pace, wore down ASTRALIS to take command in the early stretch and then outfinished DUSKY ANN. The latter improved position on the inside, was brought extremely wide for the stretch run and was gradually getting to the winner. ASTRALIS gained a brief lead on the final turn, but faltered when headed. NEVER BETTER made up distance from a slow start ENIF raced wide. SWEET BUTTER immediately established a clear lead, set the pace under steady handling and was strongly urged through the stretch to hold PENNANT DAY safe. The latter appeared dangerous while prominently placed, but could not gain on the top one when hard punished tor the drive. NEREID, far back for a half mile, closed with belated ccurage in the stretch EVAS TOY moved to the leaders easily at the half mile, was taken to the outside for the drive and then suddenly weakened. LETS DANCE sprinted to the front at once, repulsed challengers at the half mile to regain a clear lead and gradually drew out under steady handling in the final stages. WILY WILLIE drove through on the inside to make a strong hid in the backstretch, dropped back when unable to reach the front and drifted wide when punished for the drive. INFAITH raced with the first flight on the outside and weakened slightly in the drive. GALLANT JAKE was not dangerous. BROWN CHIEF went evenly. RED NED delayed the start when returned to the race. AFRICAINE raced very wide. Overweight— Africaine, 2 pounds. Attendance, 8,223; Total Mutuel Pool, 70,015.
